The Nissan Cup in Estonia, Latvia and Finland is a combined elite team race and a whole family event. The main race in each event is a long and tough marathon for the fittest teams. The length of the marathon is about 100 km’s, which is in two laps. Each teams three best performances are added together to make the team result. After the elite start hobby riders have their own one lap ride. There will also be a very short children’s race, in which parents can participate as well.
In 2009 the Nissan MTB Cup in the Baltics will expand also to Lithuania. In the future it will also become a UCI recognized series with points given for qualification to the OC in London 2012.
